About RubberZone: Started in the late spring of 1996 as "The Rubber Lovers Contact List" at the humble domain of LatexPajamas.com, the site has grown by the thousands over the years, first evolving into RubberList.com, and then combining forces with JimmyB and Tommy of Rubbermen.com to produce what became RubberZone, now an independent web site. RubberZone predates many fetish web sites, and over that time we've been lucky to witness the birth of rubber events that are now thriving institutions. A little bit about "IDOL" - the International Day of Latex (taken from the Facebook post originally promoting the idea),

"Thomas Hancock, a manufacturing engineer and inventor had been making rubber fabric since 1819 in Manchester, UK and soon merged with Charles Macintosh to create the first mass produced rubber clothing, the raincoat! Due to these coats melting in warm weather and smelling a bit, Hancock invented a method of vulcanizing rubber, receiving his patent in 1843, followed a year later by Charles Goodyear who patented his method in 1844 in the USA on... June 15th!"
